William Harvey "Bill" Reinhart
It is with great sadness that the family of William H. Reinhart announces his passing on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at the age of 81 years. William will be remembered by his wife Alicia of 54 years, and his children Victor, William Paul, Kristen (Robert Pusterhofer), and Glen (Julie Howson-Reinhart), and his grandchildren Alexander, Logan, Mathew, and James. Bill was preceded in death by his brothers Richard and James. A funeral in memory of Bill will be held on August 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Whitehaven Memorial Park, 615 SOM Center Road, Mayfield Village, Ohio, with a Celebration of Bill's Life to follow at Manakiki Golf Course and Country Club, 35501 Eddy Road, Willoughby, Ohio. William was a native of North Olmstead, and he spent nearly all of his life in Ohio. Bill completed his undergraduate studies at Ohio University, and then received a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering at Carnegie Mellon. Bill travelled frequently, and with his wife and children, often visited his in-laws in Monterrey, Mexico, and also travelled to numerous other places in Mexico, including the pyramids, Guadalajara, Acapulco, and Puerto Vallarta. William's children all have fond memories of this adventurous travel. Bill also enjoyed numerous hobbies and sports, including golf, fishing, boating, sailing, and hiking. On at least one hike, William reached the summit after an ambitious hike, including to the peak of Dragon's Tooth near Roanoke Virginia, a hike which involved family members of three generations. Indeed, William passed away doing what he enjoyed doing, hiking at the Chagrin River, a place where his family has often visited, and his children and grandchildren continue to visit and enjoy. William also enjoyed games, and was often known to leave the table with the largest winnings after exciting card games such as Poker and Texas hold'em. William enjoyed carpentry and woodworking, and his numerous projects included refinishing and restoring old pieces created by his grandfather, including lovely dressers and chess tables. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in William's name may be made to the City Mission, the Catholic Relief Services, and/or the Salvation Army (Chardon Branch).
